The National Association of Farriers,
Blacksmiths and Agricultural Engineers (NAFBAE).
The NAFBAE head office is at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, on the site of the National Agricultural Centre where it has an administrative office, a seminar room, a meeting room and a forge facility for competitions and workshops.

Formed in 1904 NAFBAE are one of the most established trade associations around today. They have a history of working for the betterment of the membership and the Trades.
Members benefit from a wide range of services that they can provide. Forge Magazine six times a year, specialised insurance, pension funds and healthcare plan, discounted legal cost and access to highly experienced and specialist legal advisers. Plus experience of negotiating and mediating between disagreeing parties.
Communication, education and national competitions prove their commitment to the membership is as strong as ever.
There is an absolute treasure trove of benefits for you to tap into and reap the rewards of. Membership is open to anyone in the trades, from apprentice to employer, large and small companies alike.
Farriery Apprentices all benefit from having their membership fee paid for by the Farriers Training Service. As part of the apprentices membership the Association offers a free and confidential welfare advice line, detail of which can been seen under apprentice benefits.
The Association organises many competitions and CPD (continuing professional development) events throughout the year, many of the branches also hold competitions. At these events members receive a considerably reduced entry fee. As a member of the Association you will be automatically invited to attend the events.

Insurance

NAFBAE work with insurance brokers to make sure that all aspects of our industry have the right sort of cover at an appropriate level, meeting the needs of the member and his profession. Members of the Association receive a 12.5% discount on the price of insurance.

Healthcare

Healthcare is something we all should have, thanks to the baying power of the NAFBAE membership this has brought the cost within easy reach.

Pension

Branch News Letter:
The Executive of NAFBAE is committed to continue to update and upgrade, not only what the Association stands for but also what the association has to offer its members.
It believes that a step forward in this area is to improve the avenues of communication between head office and its branches. To go someway to achieve this, The first issue of a branch news letter has been printed and distrubuted.

CPD
Continuing Professional Development

A group of 5 members, at least 3 are working farriers, appointed by the WCF, the FRC and NAFB&AE are the Farriery CPD Steering Group.
It's role is to develop and publicise policy on CPD for farriers.
