Updated Rules for Managers - 15/7/13
Questions and Answers
As at 15th August 2014:-
QUESTIONS RECEIVED FROM TEAM MANAGERS & ANSWERS GIVEN.
Copied to all Team Managers in order for it to be clear to every team competing.
Question 1. Can the Reserve Apprentice Team member (if there is one), compete in the Individual Apprentice Class?
Answer: Yes
Question 2. Re Yoann Policard’s specimen shoes – which are for the 120 minutes class and which for the 90 minute class?
Answer: The French Hind and the Caulk & Wedge are for the 90 minute class.
Question 3. Re David Smith’s specimen shoes – does the competitor decide what length of steel to cut for each shoe?
Answer: i. Deep Seated Bar Shoe – has a 70mm frog plate on it
ii. Double Dobbers and Deep Seated both start at a length of 444.5mm
iii. Hind Bar shoe and Donkey Shoe – 330.2mm
iv. Aluminium – starts at 165.1mm
Question 4. Regarding French hind - are the steel measurements correct, size of steel used?
Answer: Judge confirms that they are.
Question 5. Is Mr Policard’s bar shoe in the gas forging aluminum or steel.
Answer: Aluminium.
Question 6. Which judge is ‘A’ and which ‘B’?
Answer: David Smith = ‘A’
Yohann Policard = ‘B’
Question 7. Re David Smith’s Aluminium shoe – made out of 300 x 12mm x ?
Answer: The Judge made the shoe from 165.1mm (6 ½”) of aluminium.
Competitors can use up to 178mm (7”)
