After an interval of 23 years, Grant Moon is the 2008 Individual Champion of the NAFBAE International Team Horseshoeing Championship that was hotly contested at Stoneleigh on 22-24 August 2008.

Asked whether he had been practising hard for the competition, Grant revealed to Forge that he had been on holiday in Spain for two weeks and only returned to England two days before the competition began. He was confident in the Welsh teams' ability and said that the members - Billy Crothers, Jim Blurton, Nigel Brown and Andy Martin - had the desire and the attitude to win this year. They must be one of the hot contenders if competition experience counts, bearing in mind that Billy Crothers has won the Individual Shoeing six times.

Twelve teams competed this year - Belgium, the British Army, Canada, England, Germany, Ireland, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, USA and Wales. Belgium competed for the first time this year and Sweden competed with a team of three after one team member missed his flight.

Congratulations to the Welsh team for winning the 29th International Team Horseshoeing Competition! The team trophy returned to Wales after a two year absence and proved Grant Moon's confidence that the welsh team had the drive and determination to triumph in the team competition.

Karen Zetsche of Life Data Labs Inc, makers of Farrier's Formula, the main sponsors of the event, kindly presented the prizes.

With thanks to Tom Ryan for the Competition Results
